2008 Election Timeline

MON  7/14/08  Last day to register to vote for the primary election. (No later than 29 days before the election.) / Last day to change or withdraw from major political party affiliation.

SAT 8/2/08  Early voting can begin for the primary election / Counting of mail-in/early voters' ballots may begin.

TUE 8/5/08  Last day to apply for mail-in ballot (formerly known as absentee) for the primary election if the ballot is to be mailed.

FRI 8/8/08  Last day to vote early for the primary election.

TUE  8/12/08  PRIMARY ELECTION

MON 10/6/08  Last day to register to vote for the general election. (No later than 29 days before the general election.)

MON 10/20/08  Early voting can begin for the general election.

SAT 10/25/08  Counting of mail-in/early voters' ballots may begin.

TUE  10/28/08  Last day to apply for mail-in ballot for the general election if mailed.

FRI  10/31/08  Last day to apply for mail-in ballot for the general election if not mailed.
