FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)
What is a Voter Registration Drive (VRD)?  A VRD is defined as the distribution and collection of voter registration applications by two or more persons for delivery to a county clerk and recorder.

 What does your site/organization do?  Vote Longmont is an authorized Colorado VRD and as such will be out in the community trying to register voters.  The Vote Longmont website is an informational and educational site to help inform Longmont residents in areas related to registration and voting.

Why?  Voter registration and turnout in Longmont is too low, in our opinion.  By providing a one-stop shop to find election information relevant to Longmont, and an easier way to register, we hope to trend those numbers upward.

Do you get paid per registration?  Absolutely NOT.  It is also against state statute to compensate circulators based on the amount of registrations they collect.

Does it matter what party I want to join?  No.  You could register "Martian" (not currently an approved affiliation) and we'd still gladly take your application.  Parties and their politics are not the point of this.   

Who/What is funding this effort?  1) Self-funding, 2) donations (non-tax deductible), 3) website ad revenue, and, 4) a small percentage of sales of merchandise sold at our CafePress store.  Let us know if you'd like to help in this regard, any amount is appreciated.

Can you come to our event/function?  Yes, for the purposes of voter registration, scheduling permitting.  We can set up a small table with 1-2 circulators.  We will be non-intrusive and will not flag down or walk up to anyone uninvited.

I don't live in Longmont, can you take my application?  Yes.  While we are focused on Longmont, we are authorized to accept applications from any city, county, or state.  We prefer to give you the appropriate state or national application to take with you due to the costs of postage and fuel.

Who is the authorized VRD agent/organizer on file with the Colorado Secretary of State?  Chris Rodriguez, Longmont, CO.  Friends and family will make up the circulator volunteers.
